Festival of Sail San Francisco

For five days the San Francisco Bay will seem like something out of a movie, with majestic tall ships offering cannon sails, sunset cruises, day cruises and tours, everyone will feel like they are apart of maritime history!

Concerts, fireworks, an international village, marine center and Parade of Sail will all be a part of the ongoing celebration to educate the community about the importance of the tall ships and their role in bringing diversity and commerce to San Francisco.

The tall ships begin their Pacific coast voyage nearly a month before they arrive in San Francisco as part of the American Sail Training Association’s 2008 TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Race Series. From late June through early September these magnificent ships will be sailing the Pacific coast and visiting ports along the way. The fleet will be in San Francisco July 23rd – 28th, 2008.

Hosted by the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association and the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the 2008 Festival of Sail will transform the piers of San Francisco into an international nautical attraction.
