Williams Mystic Maritime Studies Program

The Maritime Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport offers undergraduates an exciting interdisciplinary curriculum of ocean and coastal studies. Four Williams College courses are offered in the semester-long program at Mystic Seaport, in Mystic, Connecticut: Maritime History, Literature of the Sea, Environmental Policy, and either Marine Ecology or Oceanography. Students earn a full semester's credit and transcript from Williams College. Throughout the semester, students sail on a tall ship, travel the Pacific Coast, and journey to the Mississippi Delta on three extended, hands-on field seminars. Students live in historic, cooperative houses at Mystic Seaport, the nation's largest maritime museum, where they learn traditional maritime skills, and have full access to world-class maritime collections, museum experts, and diverse coastal habitats. College sophomores, juniors, and seniors may participate and all majors are welcome. Financial aid is available. Interested students should contact:
