Jim Hiney

Mr. Hiney's background is in private practice law specializing in technology law which included building new companies around new ideas and technology. He is an IP lawyer as well.

Mr. Hiney was the General Counsel, Vice President of a NASDAQ company in the 1990s and before that a partner in a multi-state firm in Washington, DC.     He worked on creating the gasohol movement and did litigation in various capacities.   He holds an engineering undergraduate degree and is CEO of a cattle vaccine business with joint ventures around the world. Mr. Hiney was an engineer for Westinghouse and Ingersoll Rand, was an attorney for Boeing in Seattle, has at times been a registered lobbyist, was a guest lecturer at Virginia Tech, Darden School of Business at UVA, Purdue, and at other professional functions, and a partner in two multi-state D. C. law firms.  Mr. Hiney created the non-profit American Gasahol  Association in the 80s and ran it for the first year.   He presently sits on the incubator advisory board for the University of Maine in Orono, and still litigates occasionally.  

Mr. Hiney crews regularly on the Elizabeth II out of No. Carolina and occasionally on the Godspeed and the Pride II
